 Description  « Hide
Users are having difficulty installing RadRails because they don't have Mylyn and the connector is "checked" to be installed by default when they hit the update site.

As far as I know we don't really have enough control to make it unchecked by default or to expand the tree by default. So we should try moving the connector out to a separate update site, and have that listed in the plugin manager.

Carter: I've added you as a watcher, because this will also involve you.

I'd like to move out the Mylyn connector feature to it's own update site and drop it from the RadRails site. It's causing too much confusion for new users. I can change the plugins, features and build processes - but I need to know a good location/URL update site where we could host the plugin and we'll need to push the plugin over there and manage that release.

something like http://update.aptana.com/install/rails_mylyn_connector/3.2/ would work. Is that good for you?

Chris Williams - 26/Dec/07 12:25 PM
Carter: I've tried just removing the entry for the connector in the update site xml generation inside the postBuild.xml file in org.radrails.rails.pluginbuilder. This seems to break the build for some reason, and I can't figure out why (I can't run a local build because of the dependency on trunk, and I've been too lazy to set up an apache and cruisecontrol locally).

Any ideas? (I want to get it off that update site first, then we can worry about making its own site and deploying it to the right URL).

Where can I find the Mylyn connector for 1.0.0 RC?

Chris Williams - 27/Dec/07 09:55 AM
If you want the Mylyn connector, grab it from the stable RadRails update site: http://update.aptana.com/update/rails/3.2/. There haven't been any changes since that release.
