Since I've upgraded my Powerbook to Leopard I've seen pretty consistent crashes when stopping a Webrick server running the latest version of Typo. When I force the IDE to quit, I get an error from Java.

I've also seen Java showing up as a menu item since the upgrade. It did not before.

This is what I'm getting when I kill Aptana (actually Java as that is what shows up in the process list)

You say you're killing Aptana: Are you killing it with a command line "kill" (because it's freezing when you stop the server)? Or is it crashing when you try to stop the server inside RadRails?

Can you post/attach the JVM crash logs it generates? (They should be named hs_err_pidXXX.log, and be in the root directory of Aptana).

I've upgraded to Studio version 1.0.2 and the problem seems to be resolved.

To answer your questions, the entire IDE was freezing when I tried to stop the Webrick server. The only way to recover was a force quite.

With 1.0.2 I'm still seeing "java" as the first menu item.

I talked to Ingo about the "java" dock item" when we went over this ticket and he claims that it should be fixed in the next release (but might be in the installer, so for existing users they'd have to re-install?). You may want to open a ticket on that just to be sure he's tracking it and can give you the full details.

Actually it looks like someone has entered a ticket for the "java" icon issue: STU-661
