The forum username is different than the store username, which would explain why it would not allow you to log into the forums. It there is still an issue with the pro login, please let us know.
I think there is still a problem, but it's hard for me to be sure (or to troubleshoot). It worked on my Windows machine for a bit, then I tried to update my main installation of Aptana on another machine (which failed,
I don't know at that point if the password was ever accepted, I don't know if the pro/nightly updates were even checked. So, one nice feature would be some explicit success indicator on password submission, or else maybe the 'no updates available' message could add an explicit 'what is current' message or something? (BTW, I am set for Aptana 'Nightly builds' and for 'compatible' updates) Anyway, since I had been asked for the password that 4 times, I went back into the license page form for setting the 'updates' password and re-entered exactly the same password, the same password as I use to log into ASAP, into the forums, and into My Account. Then I re-ran the check-for-updates, did not get asked for a password, was told 'no updates available - but I realize I still can't be sure whether the password as supplied earlier (4 times) was eventually accepted or if maybe only Community features were checked for so the password was never used. To test this, I clear the Password Manager's password store setting, and remove the stored pro.aptana.com setting, then run 'get aptana updates' again ... and still I am not asked for the Pro password, and I am told 'no updates available." That can't be right - at least if the password was really cleared I should get asked for it, right? Something about 'remove password' must not be clearing something. So, stop and restart eclipse. Yep, I get asked for the pro.aptana.com password ... only twice? ... then "no updates available." I checked the traffic on the network and I see an SSL session being built to talk with pro.aptana.com, and not with update.aptana.com ... so, am I safe in assuming that the Windows machine is properly updates to Nightlies? and, does anupdate failure on one of the two installations affect the updateability of the other machine? This morning I started re-eclipse on my Windows laptop, and I am stuck in a continuous loop of being asked for my pro password. Can't get any work done on that machine, I can't even get into eclipse.
Attempt go just go to http://pro.aptana.com I went back to the page at http://www.aptana.store.com/store/license.php?id= How do I get my pro password stabilized? I have same problem, password is not accepted by pro.aptana.com.
May be your servers are not synchronized? I log in by my password in store, view my account, but it doesn't work when i try to update my aptana to pro version (i get trial license key and it is valid). I'm also having this problem. I can't login to pro.aptana.com and I cannot get any nightly builds. (Username: yungsters)
Hi All,
Are you able to log in using the form at https://pro.aptana.com/login.php Thanks, I can log in with the form fine, but once I'm logged in, the links to the downloads won't accept my password.
Slightly irrelevant, but when I first login, (using IE, not FF) I am sent to a "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" error. When I refresh (F5), however, I get a page with a link that says "Continue on to Pro Downloads". Hi Timothy,
Can you please try it in Firefox? We're using a username/password redirection in the URL, which IE doesn't allow, which is why you would see those errors. Thanks, Hi Timothy,
Okay, great. Are you also using the Eclipse plugin version, and are you behind a proxy? If the Eclipse plugin, what other plugins are installed? Thanks, I am using the Eclipse plugin version, but I am not behind a proxy. Here's a list of all my plugins/versions:
Aptana PHP Development Environment 0.7.0 Okay. When you are doing a search for updates, how is that done? Are you doing Help > Search for Aptana Updates, or the Eclipse search on startup? As a note, we don't "officially" support Eclipse 3.4 yet, but it should work. However, there could be well be password-authentication issues with that version depending on what has changed.
What plugins do you wish to get nightly versions of? We might have to go the manual download route for now. It would be useful to know if you have the same password Authentication issues from Aptana standalone since that would eliminate any network issues. Thanks, When I searched for updates, I tried to use the Eclipse search on startup. I wanted to get nightly versions of RadRails (because of a Eclipse 3.4 / Ruby Explorer bug fix.)
After your post, I tried several things. 1) In Eclipse 3.4, I tried using "Help > Check for Aptana Studio Updates Now..." and it worked! So now I have the nightly builds. :] 2) In standalone Aptana (Windows ZIP), everything works fine. (i.e. "Help > Check for..." works, Eclipse search on startup works, and "Help > Software Updates > Find and Install..." works.) Eclipse search on startup still doesn't work though (still getting five password boxes). Hi Timothy,
Okay, that is a possibility. We should be handling the case where Eclipse search runs first, but at least you have a workaround for the moment. Thanks, I tested on XP Pro and on MAC OSX.
I was not able to re-create the issue on WIN XP Pro. I was able to re-create it on MAC OSX. Manoj ps: If I close the dialog box using the top right corner 'X' it does not ask for the authentication again. OR Password authentication has changed and will be using a new system. The next release of 1.2 will contain the updated code and should eliminate this issue.
I am experiencing this problem as well. I'm afraid the problem has gotten even worse - it endlessly loops asking for the user ID/password for pro.aptana.com, and won't proceed without it. I'm locked-out of Aptana Studio for now, unless I want to re-install from scratch - and then I have no guarantee that it will work.
I CAN log-in to both the store and to https://pro.aptana.com/login.php Oops! Spoke too soon! I can login to https://pro/aptana.com/login.php Not sure if I can log-in to Cloud - it prompts me several times, but I think the Cloud prompt eventually gives up. WHAT do I have to do to re-gain the use of Aptana Studio? Aptana Pro 1.1.12.015295_200807232257 BTW, the latest nightly shown at https://pro.aptana.com/login.pho We have just now updated the authentication scheme on pro.aptana.com.
If your login works at https://pro.aptana.com/login.php No, not fixed.
I can log into the pro.aptana.com site. I bring up an Eclipse 3.4 on Mac OS X 10.5.4 - never had anything to do with Aptana, nothing cached. Install Studio, add license and validate, d/l install Pro and RadRails and RadRails Pro ... all seems to be going well. Then on next Eclipse restart, when I am asked for the pro credential, they are rejected. Over and over. The dialog keeps appearing - I can fail, or cancel, or close via the frame's close button, all the same - it won't go away. So I can toss the dialog out of the way and use Eclipse, but can't install any more software or updates from any sources. Which, in my case right now, means I have to go through the manual process of uninstalling Aptana (again). Eclipse config:
maven.mode.standalone=true
