Any word on this issue? It has ground my development to a halt on my main workstation.

Thanks,
-Bill

Also, if there is anything else I can submit that might help...like traces, etc, don't hesitate to ask.

Hi Bill,

Can you try the steps is STU-1899 as a workaround?

Thanks,
Ingo

William Pratt - 31/Jul/08 12:55 PM
I'll give the steps in stu-1899 a shot. Do you know what versions of firefox are incompatible? I tried the latest aptana pro with 3.0.1 and 2.0.0.16 and neither worked. I did set MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME to the proper path to make sure it was using the intended firefox install. I tried both rpm and self compiled versions to no avail.

Ok, I tried the steps in stu-1899, and now my previously working Eclipse install crashes about 10 secs after starting (assuming it's trying to load the aptana start page). This means that now neither of my IDE's work on this machine any longer. Is there any idea what it causing this? I find it hard to believe it's firefox since I have Aptana working on a Fedora 8 box with the same firefox install. Any help would be appreciated. I love Aptana when it works, but this is the 3rd time in less than a year that your product has simply failed to work. This is becoming a problem that may result in my team switching to a more stable ide and that would be a shame.

Is there anything new on this? I have tried everything and still no luck?

William Pratt - 09/Aug/08 10:18 PM
Ok, I uninstalled Eclipse and deleted every related file I could find including my metadata and project files. I reinstalled eclipse (via yum) and installed Aptana / Pro / RadRails and so far, I am working again.

I updated today to the new versions of studio and pro and this issue is now back. Any help or thoughts?

Alberto Dominguez - 03/Nov/08 01:09 PM
I got the same issue runing latest Aptana version on Ubuntu. Seems that if you run Aptana from /usr/local/ it throws that error. However if move it to your personal folder or to /usr/lib it works properly (at least for me) -it is probably due to a permissions error, however I didn't research enough to find out why.

Hope it works for you.

how can this be marked as close when it is not resolved, about the ubuntu thing people the BUG is about Fedora not Ubuntu.

Filipe Veloza - 20/Dec/08 04:01 PM
I have just installed Fedora 10 and this issue still happens

How can I solve this issue ?

Octavio Ocharán - 31/Dec/08 12:21 AM
Same here with Fedora 10.

I just tried to install Aptana as a plugin in Fedora Eclipse and I got this message:

Eclipse Plug-in Development Environment (3.4.1.r341_v20080731-7T7U0E9mlRIuGUYviF_VP) requires feature "org.eclipse.platform (3.0.0)", or compatible.

Is there a way to use Aptana in Fedora 10?

To install into an generic Eclipse 3.4 Environment, you can use the new update site:

The new Andretti seems to work out of the box on Fedora 9.

Joelle Lam - 20/May/09 05:29 PM
BTW, Andretti Alpha does work on Fedora 10. Just be sure to install the SUN JRE following the Fedora Instructions.
